Your thoughts on 1911s

I've been getting into some Spanish 1911 pistols lately, and I'm really curious if anyone else here has had some experience with these. Would love to hear your thoughts...

Finding parts can be a bit of a gamble, especially with older models. Some components are locked down because they're proprietary, which definitely adds to the challenge. It's kind of frustrating when you're looking for a specific piece and realize it’s not as easy to get as you hoped.

Are you talking about the classic surplus stuff, like the Star Model B, or are you leaning more towards something newer?

A buddy of mine has a Star, seemed pretty solid for what it is. I shot a few magazines with no hiccups.

Military Spanish guns are great; the commercial, not so much.
I had a Llama that was a jamming, hunk of crap, I'd have been better off jumping my target and beating it in the head with it!
