If I slap a 3.25" flash can onto my 7.5" AR, will it make the boom feel more like a 10.5" inch gun?

It will channel that bone-cracking "UMPH" downrange. I had one on my .300.

I really dig using a flash can on my shorter builds. It does a great job of muffling the concussion, making the whole shooting experience a lot more comfortable.

Just get you some ep10 Sonic Defenders. They have 30 db protection and work wonders. I can run a box of 308 in a 16" AR and nary a buzz in the ears nor any soreness from them as they are foam inside. That way you can change up shooting platform on the fly without worrying about what sounds you have to deal with. Great for 3 gun playing.

I am waiting for SBRs and suppressors to be non NFA. I have installed Kaw Valley 3.25 in linear compensators in the mean time. They do a great job channeling the blast concussion wave downrange and not in my face. Even got a rebound echo in an indoor range. the suppressor prices seem to be going down and after 01JAN2026, no more $200 fee (I know some mfgrs already cover that). Once the NFA is gone, then I hope the free market takes over. I just hate ATF and their Big Gubment attitudes.
