Hope everyone's having a good time here!

I'd love to know, what’s one hunting mistake you’ll always remember? Maybe it was that moment your scope went busted, or you realized the boots you wore were totally wrong, or perhaps you spooked the game way too soon. I’d love to hear your stories. Let’s swap some lessons and have a good laugh along the way!

Let me tell you about this unforgettable moment from an early season bow hunt I had. I was out in the woods, carefully playing the wind and making my way through some hardwoods where I knew deer had been hanging out. After a bit of stealthy stalking, I finally spotted a decent buck about 60 yards away, just chilling in the brush. I took my time, creeping closer and closer, probably spending around 20mins narrowing the distance to about 35 yards. I found a sturdy tree to hide behind, and the buck hadn’t caught on at all, everything was going perfectly.

I drew my bow back, got my sights lined up, and right when I was ready to release the arrow... my stomach decided to betray me with this growl that echoed through the silent woods. I swear it was like something out of a movie so loud that that poor buck’s head shot up like a rocket, and in a flash, he was gone before I could even process what just happened.

I’d skipped breakfast that morning, thinking I could tough it out. Lesson learned! Now I make it a point to munch on something before I head out, even if it’s just a quick granola bar. I’ll never let my hunger mess with my hunting again!

There was this very poorly planned squirrel hunt, we packed a boom box, a guitar, sleeping pads, and cooking gear.......but we forgot our cooler with the food, drinks, and beer, our smokes, and water back on the porch. Our ride promptly bailed on us to go get it, leaving us to pack that crap out by hand in the dark. When we got back, we found he'd drunk our beer and forgotten about us, so we poured sand in his gas tank and let the air out of his tires.
