Just started reloading for my .270. I'm looking for some solid recipes for taking down deer and hogs. What powders and bullet weights have you all had the best luck with?

If I were you, I'd definitely go with the 130gr Barnes TTSX. And just a tip, a 1:10 twist barrel really works wonders for keeping those heavier bullets stable. And don’t underestimate magnum primers since they can make a big difference in how consistently your ignition goes, especially when you’re working with slower powders.

In the thick brush or navigating tricky terrain, it’s best to go with heavier bullets. But if you find yourself in open fields, then sticking to the 130 to 140gr bullets is the way to go. They give you that perfect combo of speed and accuracy.

Remember ALL bullets deflect. The closer to the rifle the more deflection.
I saw a study of comparison and even the 50 bmg does it. It was alarming to say the least.
