P320 as a first handgun

Looking to buy my first handgun. Hoping someone will guide me. Is the P320 recall still a worry these days? I've been thinking about picking one up, but I really want to hear from current owners about how reliable and safe they feel the gun is now. Have there been any cool upgrades or tweaks you’d suggest trying out?
