Honorable mention to the M-1 carbine and the MAADI misr in 7.62X39.
In the golden age before cheap Chinese AKs and SKS were available and they fixed the AR-15, any REAL survivalist packed one of these. I started with the M-1A, I loved it, and I still do, but I ended up choosing the FAL as my "out the door and over the hill" gun. I liked the Israeli Galil a bit better, but they were twice as much as an FAL, and parts, accessories, and mags were rare, so... Anyway, are there any aged Survivalists in here that held on to their main go-to and still practice with it? What have you got?
Any good stories you can tell? Have a tatercam view from the bunker. LOL
