It’s interesting how high round counts can quickly bring weak points to light. In your experience, which pistols have managed to hold up and run without any trouble?

I have never had a jam out of my Makarov or BHP, I have had BOTH of my black hawk revolvers lock up at one time or another however. It was at this point I started using Castrol 20Wt. No more goo in my guns. :) It does not freeze, it does not dry to shellac, it does not thicken, it just does what its supposed to and protects like it's plated on!

I have a S&W Model 59 that I have owned for about forty years, and it surely has a number well past 10K rounds through it. That gun has been used for EDC for a good many years, taken to quite a few group shoot fests, and had nary an issue. About 5 years ago I had a spring overhaul and a good cleaning and safety inspection done by a gunsmith, and he was amazed on how the overall shape it was in. He said it was good to go for another 40+ years.

I love the 59.! It is a fine reliable weapon. I sold mine and regretted selling it!! I'm looking for another one and a 39.hppe I find them soon.

They are out there in droves. I can tell you, if you buy one buy a new spring set and maybe a barrel for it as the thing is more fun than a barrel of monkeys, and before you know it you will be throwing dozens of rounds through it. Most people have already as why I say buy a spring kit!
