I walked into a local shop knowing exactly what I wanted, but the owner talked me into trying something different first. Spent 30 minutes letting me handle different options, explained pros and cons honestly and didn't push the expensive stuff. I ended up buying what he suggested and it's been my favorite gun for five years. Good shops still exist, support them.

I did the same just a few months ago. Walked into the gun shop looking to buy a G48 and walked out with a Canik MC9 Prime. I am way partial to Glock's but this MC9 is quickly becoming my favorite go to when I hit the door heading out.

They call them the "Glock killer" for a reason.
It is a sweet handgun. It shoots really well. The gun has a natural point to it straight out of the holster. This gun was well-thought-out from every angle that is for sure. In about two weeks or so it is getting an Osite S on top and I can't wait to give it a good work out. Going to see how well it handles a few different weights of nine and how the red dot works with it.

Wish I'd grabbed one early on, now they are as much as a Gen 3 or 4 Glock.

If you don't get the Prime it is reasonable the Prime gets you some goodies though. It is a bit expensive, but I think it is well worth it. I just got a leather Supertuck for it, and it fits real nice. I have to trim it about an 1/8th of an inch near the top to clear the red dot better, but I expected that as there are no leathers made yet for it. I don't like the Kydex one it comes with it at all. Too clumsy for, me.
