I guess I go for the off brands. Martini and Kimber G82 (single shots) with Unertl scope, H&R M12 (single shot) and Ruger 10/22 with Athlon target scopes, CZ 457 Match Varmint (22 LR ARA 50 yard bench rest), Martini and Mossberg 44US with peep sights. For a real challenge a Winchester 1904 single shot with the original buckhorn style rear sight, that tiny U-notch and front sight post is tough to hold steady.
I bought the Kimber Government M82 from the CMP in Alabama was bitten by the bench rest bug. Heavy barrel 22 LR rifles ere affordable and didn't require reloading ammunition like center fire rifles. Single shot rifles are really easy on a box of ammo, takes about 20 - 30 minutes to accurately fire 50 rounds.
